BLOOD stock levels have increased countrywide to a four day supply and the National Blood Service is appealing to donors to help maintain it.
While the Richards Bay Blood Donor Centre reported above target collections since December, the national stock was still in the red and battling to boost stocks to the five day requirement.
In celebration of Valentine’s Day this Friday, the centre will be distributing gifts and encouraging donors to make blood contributions at the centre in Boardwalk Inkwazi Shopping Centre or by visiting one of the mobile clinics across Zululand this month.
February mobile clinic dates
11 – Tata Steel 10am to 4pm
13 – Empangeni Library Hall 10am- 6pm and the donor centre will be open until 6pm
14 – Mtubatuba High School 9am to 6pm
17 – Midbay Motors 10am to 2pm
18 -The Bay Hospital 11am – 3pm
19 – Mtubatuba Rugby Club 10.30am- 3.30pm
20 – Richards Bay Police Station 10am – 2pm
21- Lower Umfolozi Hospital 10am-3pm
25 – Felixton College 9am-1pm
26 – eShowe Methodist Church 10am – 6pm/ RBM Ponds Mine offices 10am-3pm
27 – Mondi Richards Bay 9am – 3.30pm
28 – Nashua Richards Bay 9am – 3pm.
