Cancer survivor’s bundle of blessing

The Moonsamy family welcomed baby Roann last month

OVERCOMING her battle with cancer, Richards Bay cancer survivor Rosann Moonsamy has kept a positive outlook on life.

The shy and soft spoken wife and mother of two said life, being in remission since 2012, has been a blissful experience. A special highlight was welcoming the arrival of her newborn baby girl – Roann last month.

Coupled with the continued love and support of her husband Thiru, family and friends, the overwhelming showers of blessings have been a constant reminder to live life to the fullest and make every moment count.
Diagnosed with cancer in 2011, Moonsamy never dreamed it would be possible to have another child after undergoing immense chemotherapy and radiation treatments.
And the pregnancy went smoothly and without any complications.

‘I was so shocked about the pregnancy, I could not believe it at first, considering that the treatments had really taken their toll on my body.
‘All I can say is that God has blessed me tremendously and despite having gone through those difficult times, there was so much good that came of it and we have become stronger as a family.
‘It was a trying time for us back then, but I would not change it for anything else because of all the new people we met and the relationships that have been built.
‘I see the good even in those tough periods.
‘There were so many that supported us emotionally, physically and even financially to cover the transport costs to seek treatment in Durban.
‘God and my faith that He is in control of my life, is what sees me through daily,’ she said.

To those going through this illness, she encouraged them to never to give up even when everything seem to be going downwards, but to hang in there as God knows all things.
