The clothes maketh the man
From men’s magazines you can learn how to dress properly, but for the rest, it’s all rubbish.

YOU cannot get rock hard abs in just 14 days using a bar stool, and you will never date a supermodel.
At least, if you know how to dress fittingly, you will be forgiven for not having abs and you might attract a few stares from want-to-be supermodels.
Dressing smart gets you places.
Take James Bond for example; those tailored suits have got him into and out of many tight spots – especially with the fairer sex.
Yes, here in Zululand a suit and tie are about as popular as a divorce lawyer’s stand at a wedding expo, but there are other options available to those who are afraid of drowning in their own perspiration.
Crocks are the antichrist
Start at the bottom; Takkies are for running and slops are for fishing.
Always remember that.
For some reason women, and your bank manager, look at your shoes first.
A pair of classy black leather lace-ups will get you almost everywhere.
Crocks?
They are the antichrist of footwear – creations of a secret feminist organisation to make men look poor and stupid.
Those black lace-ups will go perfectly with a pair of semi-casual black trousers, but remember to wear black socks.
White socks went out of fashion when John Travolta walked off the dance floor in Saturday Night Fever – 40 years ago.
Men love their jeans, especially in SA, and if it’s a decent cut and brand, it can give you a trendy edge.
But stay away from the gangster cut – those jeans with the I-pooped-in-my pants bottoms.
They make you walk funny, like a rapper on his way to a crack den.
Image is everything
For a first date, and a second, and a third, wear a neat shirt with a collar and long sleeves.
And if you really want to impress, a sporty jacket is the way to go.
To round off your stylish look, wear a watch. Every guy should own a nice wrist watch.
Now you are ready for that job interview, to sweep that girl off her feet and make that salesman think twice before ripping you off.
Image is everything and first impressions last.
