Swimarathon raises R20 000 for Rotary
This year saw more swimmers supporting the event.
A TOTAL of R20 000 was raised at the third annual Rotary Swimarathon, which took place at St Catherine’s School, with this handsome total being donated to the Rotary International Fund.
Eighty-eight swimmers supported this event which raised funds for the ‘End Polio Now’ campaign.
The St Catherine’s Early Act Club, together with Rotary, organised the event, which was run at the same time all around the world.
Participants had to complete a total of four 25m lengths nonstop.
The total funds raised from all over the world will be donated to the Rotary International Fund, which Bill Gates will match times three in dollars with hopes of ending Polio by 2018.
