Record attempt at Landy festival

Hoping for a Guinness World Record at the 2014 Landy Festival.

SA Land Rover enthusiasts will again attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the biggest convoy of Land Rover drivers at the forthcoming 2014 Landy Festival.

This year’s festival will be held on the weekend of 10 and 11 May at the Soetdoring Vakansieplaas in Vereeniging.

Event organiser Craig Dutton said: ‘We will be chasing a record set in the UK by a convoy of 349 Land Rovers.

The venue is enclosed and the convoy will not be required to drive on any public roads as it was in 2012.’

The Landy Festival festival is a weekend gathering of Land Rover owners and enthusiasts from all over SA, and includes a ‘bush mall’ and 4×4 track.
