ONE thousand positive messages of encouragement, soul-searching, challenge, praise and reflection.
That’s the major milestone reached this month by Richards Bay ‘email preacher’ Graeme Swarts.
Having started in late 2011 to send his ‘Thought for the Day’ mini sermons, complemented by his awesome photographs, Graeme’s initial distribution list has grown to include avid followers in at least 15 countries across five continents.
They, in turn, forward the messages to others and, not only has he given countless personal inspiration to many, his daily devotions are used as devotionals by church and prayer groups
‘Many people waste so much time waiting until they can do something big, that they miss opportunities for service right now,’ said Graeme.
‘This attitude is the opposite of the one the Bible teaches.
‘Jesus took simple things from ordinary folks and turned them into resources beyond imagination.
‘This same Jesus, who multiplied the loaves and fishes, can turn the simple things you bring to Him, those deeds of service day by day, and multiply them into great blessings for you, as well as for others.
‘As small as it may seem, He is looking for people who will give Him all they have, and trust Him to do the rest.
‘Who would have thought that a small token of sending a picture and Bible verse to friends has grown into a special ministry that reaches hundreds of people across the world on a daily basis.
‘This ministry is testimony that God uses ordinary people in ways we can never imagine to fulfil His purpose for us.
‘May God bless you as He has blessed me and may you find your purpose and ministry to serve Him.’
