Design a tourism logo

City seeks designs for tourism logo

THE newly-formed uMhlathuze Community Tourism Organisation (CTO) is inviting talented designers to come up with a logo that will depict the many attractions the city has to offer.

These range from water and sea-based activities to Zulu heritage, arts and crafts, wildlife, flora and fauna, industrial tourism and a host of others.

‘And, of course, our warm sunshine and mild winters which make us an all-year destination,’ said CTO spokesperson Sipho Mchunu.

‘Designers should bear in mind that the city’s predominant colour is blue and that the logo needs be equally effective whether used small on a letterhead or large on sign boards.

‘Simplicity is best and the logo should be unique and instantly recognisable, and should tell a story.

‘Accommodation at Inyala Game Ranch will be given to the winner but the real prize will be seeing one’s design represent the city and adding that to one’s CV.

’I am hoping young art and graphics students, especially, will take on this challenge.’

Designs can be emailed to Sipho.Mchunu@umhlathuze.gov.za for evaluation by the CTO committee.

‘Please limit the size of the logo to around 2 MB; we can always ask for a larger image at a later stage.’

Sipho can be contacted on 083 9601356.
