UPDATE: Valentine slayer gets life imprisonment

WHILE out on parole for murder, Bongani Enoch Nxumalo (48) on Valentine’s Day stabbed his girlfriend to death, for which he was sentenced to life imprisonment.

The eMpembeni man appeared in the Pietermaritzburg High Court on Thursday where he was found guilty of the murder of Thino Mlambo (28).

Mlambo of eSikhaleni, met and formed a romantic relationship with Nxumalo shortly after his release late last year.

Reports confirm that an argument ensued on Valentine’s Day and Nxumalo attacked Mlambo with a bush knife, fatally wounding her.

He then disposed of her body in a nearby veld in Mpembeni Reserve before calling the police and her family to inform them of the incident.

He was later found and arrested in eSigubudu Reserve in KwaNongoma.
