UPDATE: Snake bite victim discharged

Freddie Norman has been discharged and is recovering well.

FREDDIE Norman, the man bitten by what is believed to be a forest cobra, was discharged over the weekend from Ngwelezana Hospital.

Norman was rushed to hospital last Thursday, after being bitten twice on the left leg at Nature’s Way Backpackers in Mtunzini.

He is now back home and recovering well.

Lee Sanders, an employee at backpackers, uploaded a poster to Facebook asking for help to track down Norman’s family.

His mother, who lives in Meerensee, Richards Bay, was soon reached.

Fast action by Sanders, who rushed Norman to hospital after a visit to the local doctor, probably saved his life.
