Trunk call for vehicle owner

The owner of the car thanked Zephian Alberts for saving his vehicle from nearly being compacted by the jumbo.

AN elephant bull at the Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park had a huge itch to scratch and picked a visitor’s Hyundai Atos as the right tool for the job.

It took a brave Richards Bay man staying at the nearby Mfolozi base camp to chase the ellie off the car on Saturday evening.

‘I just shouted ‘hey’ loudly twice and it was enough to get him going,’ said Zephian Alberts.

‘He gave a little mock charge, but he was actually quite well-behaved.’

The owner of the car thanked Zephian for saving his vehicle from nearly being compacted by the jumbo.

He said the Atos’ bonnet was dented and fenders damaged, ‘but it could have been much worse’.
