Samsung developing ‘transparent’ truck

The idea might make our roads safer, but what are the side effects?

KOREAN tech giant Samsung are taking known methods of advertising, and chucking them in the bin.

Coupled to a highway safety campaign, Samsung are developing a truck with massive screens on the back, and a wireless camera mounted up front.

Why, do you ask?

The system will enable motorists driving behind big trucks to see the roadway in front, without having to leave their lane.

According to online news reports, the system has been tested and preliminary results are very positive.

None of the units are actively running just yet.

Do you think this system will work in SA, with our narrow provincial roads and high volume of truck traffic? Or will it be another major target for the criminal element?
