Top tourism training for hospitality industry

Tourism tips benefit B&B owners.

UPSKILLING of businesses operating in the B&B tourism sector continue to receive intensive training via uMhlathuze Community Tourism Organisation (CTO) workshops.

Last week saw seven local establishments benefit from the International Labour Organisation’s four-day SCORE (Sustaining Competitive & Responsible Enterprises) training, module 1.

Among others, the course covers legal, practical, quality, financial, housekeeping, environmental, health and safety issues.

Amble Inn, Aristo Manner, Umfolozi Lodge, La Rochelle Inn, Ekhaya Sun Lodge, Nelly B&B and Mvula House took part in this round of training at Seagull Lodge.

All agreed they learned a tremendous amount and that momentum is being built through incremental knowledge.

These companies have also entered into the the 2015 uMhlathuze Responsible Tourism Challenge, a R250 000 competition that will measure innovative steps taken to improve service as well as the bottom line.

Others in the hospitality industry are reminded they can be part of the next training session by contacting the uCTO on 083 9601356.
