Hats off to Unizulu loyalists
Forty-two employees were recognised for their long service to the university
LONG serving employees of the University of Zululand (Unizulu) were awarded certificates and gifts at a glittering ceremony held at the King Bhekuzulu Hall last week, to honour them for their commitment.
Forty-two employees, who have served at the institution for up to 30 years, were rewarded by management for their dedication in ensuring success of the university.
Addressing the awardees, acting Vice-Chancellor Prof Xoliswa Mtose said the staff members are the backbone and the most valuable asset that the university has.
‘Today is without a doubt one of the most important days in the university calendar as this is the day set aside to reward loyalty and dedication by staff members.
‘It is through the loyal service and dedication by people like you and many others at this university that we continue to have hope,’ Professor Mtose said.
Unizulu Executive Director, Raynolds Ngcobo, said it was important that staff work together in achieving the strategic goal and not work as individuals in their different jobs.
