DA elects new uMhlathuze caucus leader

Democratic Alliance fills uMhlathuze caucus leader position and exco seat following Christo Botha's passing

The Democratic Alliance (DA) in KZN has elected seasoned councillor Muzi Mtshali as caucus leader in the City of uMhlathuze.

Announcing the developments, DA KZN chairperson Dean Macpherson said Councillor Mtshali will also fill the vacant Executive Committee seat in the municipality following the passing of the late deputy mayor, Christo Botha, who was the party’s mayoral candidate in the city.

“The DA KZN wishes Councillor Mtshali well in this new role and is confident he will continue to serve the people of uMhlathuze with diligence and commitment.

“The DA will further engage with the IFP to fill the vacant deputy mayor seat in the municipality, and will make an announcement in due course,” said Macpherson.
