Man cut free from mangled car
Car and delivery van crashed on Nsezi road, closing both lanes

PARAMEDICS wasted no time on Friday morning to help extricate a critically injured man wedged in his wrecked vehicle after a head-on collision on the Nsezi Road outside Richards Bay.
The crash, involving a light motor vehicle and delivery van at 8.20am, resulted in both lanes being closed to allow emergency rescue efforts by medics.
The uMhlathuze Fire Department used hydraulic spreaders, cutters and rams to create enough space for Netcare 911 personnel to cut one motorist free using a specialised saw.
When he was finally disentangled, he was stabilised on scene before being rushed to hospital.
The other motorist sustained moderate injuries and was treated at the accident scene.
Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
