NFP group crosses over to ANC

Big boost for ANC ahead of elections

THIRTY NFP members who crossed to the ANC were welcomed by the ANC Musa Dladla Region at a media briefing in Empangeni this week.

Local ANC Chairperson Nonhle Mkhulisi said she was happy that the new members understood that the ANC was not a stepping stone to be used by those who want to get rich quickly.

‘There are no shortcuts in the ANC. It is all about rendering community service without expecting anything in return.

‘We are excited to welcome our brothers and sisters who have chosen a safe home. We are happy that we are getting more soldiers on our side as we gear up for the tough local government elections,’ Mkhulisi said.

‘We are still in the business of recruitment and we recruit every day. To us this is a big boost to increase our membership. To have so many members joining the ANC tells us that we are on track and are uniting the people of uThungulu.

‘We also have full confidence in their capabilities. They are not just adding numbers, they are adding value as well.’

These NFP members come from Mthonjaneni, Ntambanana, uMlalazi, uMfolozi and uMhlathuze. Among them is NFP uThungulu District Secretary S’ma Msomi.

Msomi said she chose the ANC as a volunteer as she wants to contribute to nation building.

ANC Regional Secretary Tholi Gwala said the new members will go through an induction process of six months before being considered for any organisational deployment.
