Family mourn biker’s passing
'Every parent would have loved to have a son like Ruvashen
FAMILY and friends of 25-year-old Ruvashen Naiker, who died in a tragic accident on the N2 last Saturday, rallied last week in tribute of a life snatched away too soon.
‘Just the week prior (to the accident) we spent time with Revushan. Those memories are so vivid and fresh in my mind,’ said his uncle Vasidevan Naiker at his funeral service last week.
‘We chatted about everything, laughed and ate together. Little did we as a family realise that these were our last moments with him.’
Ruvashen, a member of the Dolphin Bikers Club who had recently qualified as quantity surveyor, was travelling from Tongaat to visit his grandmother in Empangeni.
Family members described Revushen as ‘a gem of child’, saying he was responsible, highly capable and someone who showed the greatest respect to all those around him.
‘Ruvashen was a shining example of a young man with attributes that every parent would have loved to have in a son,’ said Vasidevan.
The circumstances surrounding the accident are still unclear and police investigations are underway to ascertain the cause.
