Narrow escape in Sunday crash

A DRIVER and his assistant escaped with minor injuries when their truck spun out of control on the R66 on Sunday afternoon.

According to reports, the duo were travelling from Durban to Johannesburg when the accident happened near eZindophi at around 1:45pm.

The uMlalazi Municipality Disaster Management Team, Public Safety Unit and eShowe SAPS rushed to the scene and reported that the driver lost control of the truck in the heavy rain as he negotiated a sharp bend.

They were both taken to eShowe Hospital for treatment.
