Old herdsman gunned down
'We can't tell who is responsible for this incident, but to us, it is clear that it was a planned hit'

The deceased’s son, Bongani Dube (35), said they are in shock over the untimely passing of their father.
‘We can’t tell who is responsible for this incident, but to us it is clear that it was a planned hit.
‘A witness told us the suspects were travelling towards Nkwalini in a red double cab vehicle. They allege that when the vehicle was about to pass him, a gunman opened fire.
‘It seems as if he missed my father because when they realised that he was still walking, they made a U-turn and shot him twice and drove back.
‘My father was a noble man who used to look after his livestock and we have never heard anyone complaining about him. In fact, he had no enemies,’ Bongani said.
King Cetshwayo cluster police spokesperson, Captain Mbongeni Mdlalose, said a case of murder was registered at eShowe SAPS for investigation.
‘No arrest has been made yet, and the motive of the attack is unknown,’ he said.
