The deceased was accused of stealing goats in the Masangweni area and was allegedly kidnapped from his homestead.

He was assaulted and stoned before being set alight on Sunday, 13 December.

Police spokesperson, Captain Nqobile Gwala, said Xulu suffered serious burn wounds and was taken to hospital, where he later died.

The Biyela brothers appeared in the Melmoth Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 22 December.

They were remanded in custody pending further investigations and are expected to appear at the same court tomorrow for bail application.
