WATCH: KZN Philharmonic Orchestra live in Empangeni

Classical music performance brings joy to Zululand learners

As part of their school programme, the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra took centre stage, entertaining pupils at Empangeni Preparatory School on Tuesday.

Orchestra members had joy of showing pupils how various instruments work and sound

During their educational showcase, the group gave the children the opportunity to learn about different sections of the orchestra and how various instruments work and sound.

The orchestra visits schools in and around the province, performing educational programmes to over 30 000 learners annually.

Some learners had an opportunity top be part of the orchestra

Most learners have never seen an orchestra perform live, so for many of them this is the start of appreciating classical music.
