Voter education campaign in iLembe and King Cetshwayo Districts

The KZN Legislature is conducting a voter education campaign in iLembe and King Cetshwayo Districts to educate and encourage the residents to participate effectively in the upcoming municipal elections.

The KZN Legislature has a duty to conduct public education as part of its mandate of enhancing public involvement in the democratic processes. Voting is a democratic right and a civic duty which requires all eligible citizens to participate in it.

Our voter education campaign is focusing on the following important areas:
  • Who can register as a voter?
  • Where can you register?
  • Why should you register?
  • How do you check if you are registered?
  • How to vote in municipal elections?
The Legislature will be conducting the voter education campaign on Wednesday, 1 September as follows:

Ilembe District Municipality (Time: 9am)

  • KwaMaphumulo Local Municipality : Wards 5, 10 and 12 
  • KwaDukuza Local Municipality : Wards 11, 12 and 15 

King Cetshwayo Local Municipality (Time: 9am)

  • Umlalazi Local Municipality : Eshowe Taxi Rank. 
  • Umhlathuze Local Municipality : Richards Bay Taxi Rank

Bring your ID to check if you are registered to vote in the upcoming municipal elections.
