Foskor and UKZN hosts LDP graduation

The LDP is a short course presented by UKZN’s Graduate School of Business and Leadership, with the aim of honing students’ leadership and management skills.

CELEBRATIONS were in order on Friday, 14 April as the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) and Foskor hosted its prestigious Leadership Development Programme graduation ceremony. This followed the 2022 Leadership Development Programme (LDP) cohort offered by UKZN in collaboration with Foskor.

The LDP is a short course presented by UKZN’s Graduate School of Business and Leadership, with the aim of honing students’ leadership and management skills.

A number of Foskor employees successfully completed the LDP programme, and their hard work was recognised by special guests in attendance at the graduation ceremony. These included Foskor CEO Julian Palliam, Professor Mabutho Sibanda (UKZN), Jabu Dlamini, Vincent Matlala, Charles Reddy, Dr Siphiwe Mqadi, Professor Bomi Nomlala, and Bongekile Sithole.

Julian Theodore Palliam, Foskor President and CEO

Speaking on behalf of the graduates, Dr Mannana Ntoampe thanked Foskor for believing in them and investing in the education of its employees.

Foskor CEO Julian Palliam lauded the graduates for their perseverance and, in the words of Steve Jobs, encouraged them to ‘stay hungry; stay foolish’.

Learning is an ongoing process, and congratulations on embracing that concept, said Vincent Matlala.

His sentiments were echoed by guest speaker, Professor Mabutho Sibanda, who delved deeply into the practical characteristics of leadership.

Professor Bongi Nomlala also urged the graduates to apply the lessons and skills they have learned to make a difference in their workplace and communities.
