1 person dies in John Ross accident

A woman (47) has died in a single-vehicle accident, believed to have taken place overnight

A WOMAN sadly lost her life when her vehicle left the John Ross highway, crashing down an embankment.

While emergency services were only alerted to the accident scene just before 10am today (Thursday), it is believed the crash took place during the night.

Passing motorists reportedly alerted the emergency services after seeing the vehicle down the embankment on the stretch of the John Ross between Bizola Bridge and the Mondi intersection on the Empangeni-bound carriageway.

A woman (47), the sole occupant of the vehicle, was declared deceased by paramedics on scene.
