WATCH: Heavy rains cause flooding in uMkhanyakude

KZN disaster management teams are on high alert amid heavy rains which have already caused damage in som areas in uMkhanyakude.
The teams have responded to incidents in Ndumo and Mkuze where roads are flooded and houses have been damaged.
Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs MEC Bongi Sithole-Moloi has therefore appealed to residents in areas under the districts of Ilembe, Ugu, Zululand, King Cetshwayo, Mkhanyakude, and the eThekwini Metro to exercise caution as these areas are expected to receive a significant amount of rain this evening and into to tomorrow (Saturday).
The warning was issued by the South African Weather Service.
“In these areas, disaster management teams from the province are ready to help if they are needed,” said Cogta MEC.
