Bail for Mtubatuba woman arrested for boyfriend’s murder

The suspect allegedly cried after the incident, saying she had not meant to stab him

The eMfekayi woman (27) arrested last week for the alleged murder of a man believed to be her boyfriend was granted bail this week at KwaMsane Magistrate’s Court.

The R4 000 bail was granted with the condition that she relocates to KwaMsane, and is restricted from entering kwaShikishela, eMfekayi, until the matter is back in court on 22 August.

The court heard that the murder was the result of an alleged lovers’ quarrel, and that the 31-year-old man was stabbed in the neck and bled profusely.

The incident occurred near Nsabalele Primary School, and the victim was declared deceased by health practitioners at a local clinic.

The suspect allegedly cried after the incident, saying she had not meant to stab him.

Police spokesperson Captain Sbusiso Mkhize said the woman was arrested immediately after the matter was reported.

The case has been postponed for further investigation.
