Pongola man sentenced to 15 years

A PONGOLA man accused of murder and possession of illegal firearm and ammunition was last week sentenced by Pongola Regional Court to 15 years imprisonment.

Lucky Makhunga of the Lubisi area outside Pongola was convicted of killing a Zimbabwean national on 1 September 2021 in the Godlwayo area.

The court acquitted Makhunga on charges of illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition but found him guilty on the murder charge.
