uMkhanyakude District Municipality IFP councillor Innocent Mkhwanazi, popularly known as Killer was on Monday evening fatally gunned near the Nordale area in Mtubatuba.
District SAPS spokesperson, Captain Sbusiso Mkhize confirmed the shooting.
In a statement on Monday, the IFP shared condolences to ‘all of Cllr Mkhwanazi’s family, friends and colleagues at this very difficult time’.
“The IFP condemns this killing in the strongest possible terms. This type of violence does not bode well for our democracy, and is cause for serious concern as we approach the 2024 elections,” said IFP National spokesperson, Mkhuleko Hlengwa.
