WATCH: Strange sighting in Empangeni, what was it?

A strange sighting in a greenbelt adjacent to Palm Drive in Empangeni on Sunday evening has left a number of residents baffled and has caused much debate on social media.

A CCTV camera from a nearby residence captured what many seem to believe is a baboon or a ‘very large dog’.

Some are, however, convinced the dark shadow sprinting across the bushes was simply not an animal.

While authorities are investigating, residents are warned to be vigilant as a high level of crime, including robberies and house break-ins has been reported in this particular area.

A baboon in the area is not impossible, after sightings of one at Empangeni Rail and Ngwelezana in 2017. That animal was eventually, sadly, bludgeoned to death.
