Richards Bay businesses strive for cleaner city
NGOs partner to 'adopt' part of Richards Bay and keep litter-free

As litter piles up across the region and dump sites become potential breeding grounds for communicable diseases, residents are collectively working to ensure a safer and cleaner city.
Following the ZO’s call for a collective clean-up programme encouraging individuals and organisations to take responsibility for their litter, many locals are joining the initiative.
The message is clear – identify strewn litter in your area and come together to clean it.
This prompted the uMhlathuze Community Tourism Organisation (uCTO) and Green Chapter Foundation to spearhead a massive clean-up around Commodore Close in Richards Bay on Friday.
“We have officially adopted the area and we are going to clean it up until it is litter free.
“But most importantly, we are going to erect public bins working hand-in-hand with local businesses around Richards Bay.
