Spiritual crime prevention for men
More than 150 people attended the the King Cetshwayo Imbizo Yamadoda event hosted by Gingindlovu police
SAPS Gingindlovu, recently hosted the King Cetshwayo Imbizo Yamadoda event (a Zulu term meaning ‘Men’s Forum) at the Mangqakaza Community Hall.
The event ran from 10am to 2pm and aimed to address and discuss crime within the Gingindlovu policing area.
King Cetshwayo District Commissioner Maj-Gen Ngubane opened the proceedings by highlighting the nature of local crime and then engaged directly with the community.

Throughout the day, various stakeholders, including faith-based organisations, government departments and other partners, offered their support and words of encouragement.
Healthcare services were also available on-site through a mobile clinic.
In addition, schoolboys from various schools showcased their talents with performances of Ingoma, a vibrant traditional Zulu dance and song style, and Isicathamiya, a-cappella choral music (vocal music performed without instruments).
Their impressive displays earned gold trophies.
The event saw participation from a diverse group of stakeholders, such as SAPS, the Department of Education, the Department of Social Development, the Department of Health, Faith-based organisations, traditional structures, local municipality ward councillors, the Community Policing Forum, youth desk representatives, Department of Community Service Learning volunteers, Old Mutual, Rainbow Circle, and the Standout Foundation.
The event was attended by 150 community members, marking a successful initiative aimed at fostering community engagement, addressing local crime issues, and celebrating cultural and educational achievements.
