“This development is absolutely gut-wrenching for us and will incense the fishing community,” said Cherie Eilertsen, Dercksen’s sister, speaking to the Zululand Observer on Friday.
“But Visser is a marked man and, with no access to funds, clothing or transport, he can’t be on the run for long.”
Eilertsen appeals to members of the community to once again come to their aid in reporting any sightings of Visser.

He may have illegally crossed the border into Swaziland or Zimbabwe,” said Eilertsen.
“Even if you have only 100 Facebook friends, one of those people may spot him.”
A memorial service will be held for Dercksen at 11am on Sunday, 10 November at Sodwana Bay Ski-boat Club.
