FOUR vehicles have been involved in an accident between the eSikhaleni intersection and Eco Junction on the John Ross highway, partially obstructing the roadway and causing traffic to back up.

The accident occurred at about 2.30pm today (Friday) on the Empangeni-bound carriageway.

Mounties EMS are on scene, as is City of uMhlathuze Fire & Rescue.

Traffic is being allowed through one lane at the scene of the accident.

Motorists are urged to proceed with caution in the vicinity, and can expect delays.
