Richards Bay combat team nabs 22-year-old suspect for possession of a substance suspected to be drugs
Police have intensified their fight to remove drugs and illegal firearms from society.
On Friday, a 59-year-old man from Mbongolwane outside eShowe was arrested for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition. He was caught by the Richards Bay combat team during its intelligence-driven operation.

King Cetshwayo Police Cluster spokesperson, Captain Siyanda Shangase, said the suspect is expected to appear before the Eshowe Magistrate’s Court soon.
In a separate incident, on the same day, members of the team conducting an operation in Dlangezwa arrested a 22-year-old suspect for possession of a substance suspected to be drugs.
“Forty white rock particles and 39 red and white capsules were found in his possession. The suspect was stopped at the corner of Mfundo and IJadu. He is expected to appear at the Mtunzini Magistrate’s Court soon,” he said.
