Yellow-billed kite rescued from coal pit in Richards Bay

Grounded kite will surely soar again

COVERED in coal, dehydrated, and close to death.

This was the sad state of a yellow-billed kite, rescued last Friday from inside a dam filled with coal sludge in Alton.

Acting quickly, the bird’s rescuer transported him to a local veterinarian.
