Chirwa, who is also the founder of the Give and Share Foundation, shared some of the mental health challenges experienced by people living with disabilities.

“Many of the stressors they experience come directly from their surroundings, such as lack of understanding, limited support, and social exclusion,” said Chirwa.

“What is even more heartbreaking is that some people living with disabilities are graduates who struggle to find employment opportunities. Others are unable to secure internships to complete their qualifications, despite having the ability and determination to contribute meaningfully to society.”

She said the Give and Share Foundation is committed to walking this journey with people living with disabilities.

“We are prepared to support, advocate, and stand with them until they receive what they rightfully deserve as citizens of this country: dignity, equal opportunities, and inclusion.”
