Policewoman under scrutiny after altercation with civilian
Internal investigations will be instituted, after which the necessary steps will be taken
A FEMALE police officer from eSikhaleni is under investigation following an alleged assault on a civilian who visited the local police station on Friday evening to open an assault case.
In a video circulating on social media, the female officer is seen ordering the complainant to leave the station before striking him across the face and allegedly deploying pepper spray.

Confirming the incident, KZN police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Paul Magwaza said authorities had noted the video shared on various social media platforms, which shows a female police officer involved in an altercation with a member of the public inside the police station.
“Internal investigations will be instituted, after which the necessary steps will be taken,” said Magwaza.
According to a community leader who is close to the victim, the incident bears similarities to a previous case at the eSikhaleni Police Station in September, during which a civilian was killed.
The source alleged that the same policewoman was involved in that incident and claimed she had previously shown a lack of respect toward community members.
