One person was rushed to hospital in a serious but stable condition following a collision between a truck and a light motor vehicle this (Thursday) morning.

The accident occurred at the Alton intersection on the John Ross highway.

A second person sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

The accident occurred at around 9am, resulting in a partial obstruction of the eastbound (Richards Bay-bound) lane of the R34, causing traffic delays.

Emergency services responded swiftly to the scene, managing the incident and clearing the roadway shortly thereafter.
