Richards Bay combat star wins SA bronze medal at MMA champs
Sherize Verster scores third place at SA National Mixed Martial Arts Championships
Tenacious Richards Bay fighter Sherize Verster travelled to Johannesburg over the weekend to take part in her first South African National Mixed Martial Arts Championships.
A member of the Richards Bay Combat Coaching Club, she did amazingly well to take third place against the country’s best.
Her performance thrilled her coach, Andries ‘Piesang’ van Huizen.
“She doesn’t ever want to stop training; her dedication is unbelieveable and she is hungry to be crowned a champion soon,” he said.
Sherize will be fighting again at the casino in Empangeni this weekend at a kickboxing event, keen to get more experience in the ring.
