Two vehicles collide on the N2 near Canefields, leaving one person dead

One person died after a vehicle caught fire following a collision on the N2 near Canefields on Monday morning.

According to emergency responders, two light motor vehicles were involved in the crash on the national route.

The driver of one of the vehicles became entrapped after the collision, and the vehicle subsequently burst into flames.

The victim was declared dead at the scene.

The crash has resulted in the obstruction of the southbound emergency lane, causing traffic disruptions in the area.

Emergency services, including the City of uMhlathuze fire department, remain on the scene.

Motorists are urged to exercise caution and expect delays while emergency personnel attend to the incident.
