Scores of spectators are expected to converge on the Nkandla municipal stadium this Saturday to take part in the Mayoral Cup, aimed to expose the talent among the area’s youth.

Nkandla Mayor Nonhlanhla Nzuza said the municipality is ready to host this prestigious annual tournament.

“The Mayoral Cup consists of various sporting activities such as male and female soccer, netball, boxing, indigenous games and chess. This year, we have also introduced a running race. There will be a 10km race for ages 14-35, 36-49 and 50-69, as well as a 5km race with no age restriction,” said Nzuza.

“These games have now attracted soccer scouts from various PSL clubs, such as AmaZulu FC, Richards FC and others,” she said.
