PUBLIC NOTICE OF HAZARDOUS INSTALLATION Water Treatment Plant – uMngeni-uThukela Water In terms of the Major Hazardous Installation (MHI) Regulations, sub- section 4(4), GRN 11536, Vol. 691, 31 January 2023 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85, of 1993 (OHSA 85 of 1993) as amended, a water treatment plant containing gaseous chlorine. A water treatment plant containing Chlorine, in the event of a major incident the neighbouring sites may be affected by toxic emissions. uMngeni-uThukela Water hereby informs the public that it has conducted a five-year hazard assessment of its installation at the following site: Jozini Water Treatment Plant of uMngeni-uThukela Water situated off Road D1836, Uthobithini, Jozini, KwaZulu-Natal, 3969. This hazard assessment was carried out by those authorised to conduct such assessments. Under regulation 10(6) the report of the investigation may be made available to the public for inspection. In terms of subsection 4(5), any person who is interested in the matter may submit his/her comments or observations for consideration within 60 days of the publication of this advertisement. Written comments or observations may be submitted to the Jozini Municipality or the Chief Inspector for consideration.
