EMPANGENI High beat eShowe High in an action-packed day of fixtures in eShowe.

Unfortunately rain made the netball court unplayable and the open and ‘A’ games were postponed.

The eShowe boys hockey teams showed their dominance when they won all their games, while the only the girls team to beat Empangeni was the second team with a score of 2-1.

The girls first team lost narrowly with a score of 1-2, but U16 and U14 teams were outplayed completely losing 0-4 and 0-6 respectively.

As with the hockey, the rugby second team was the only team to win with a 12-5 scoreline.

Empangeni High won the first, U16 and U15 games.

Of the two netball games played the U15 B team lost 4-10 and the U14 B team won 9-8.

Four Empangeni chess players travelled to eShowe and the boys teams shared the nine games and drew one.

The eShowe girls drew one game and lost the second.
