Massimo, a provincial rugby star

Former Grantleigh pupil plays for the KZN U12 A rugby team.

FORMER GRANTLEIGH pupil Massimo Fierro was selected for the KZN U12 A rugby team that competed in the Inter-Provincial Rugby Tournament earlier this year, where the Sharks team claimed bronze after beating the Limpopo Blue Bulls in the third/fourth play-off.

The 11-year-old tight-head prop forward currently attends Highbury Primary School in Hillcrest, where he also plays cricket and hockey.

The Sharks team made it to the semi-finals of the competition, but unfortunately went down to the Lions in a close contest, but the team rectified this by beating the Limpopo Blue Bulls to claim third spot.

‘My role model is Marcel Coetzee and I hope follow in his footsteps by representing the senior Sharks side as well as the Springbok team,’ said Massimo.
