Sixty-four players competed in seven rounds of 60/60 time controlled games at the local CHESSA rated tournament

TACTICAL masterminds from all over the Zululand region competed in the Christmas Open chess tournament hosted by the King Cetshwayo Chess Association at Richards Bay High School on Saturday and Sunday.

Players competed under the following age groups over the two days – U10, U12, U14, U16, U18, U20 and adult.

Some players who are part of the King Cetshwayo team utilised this opportunity to practice their skills ahead of the SA Junior Chess Championships in Boksburg between 3-8 January.
