Marsha Muller’s long road leads to SA selection

Richards Bay ultrarunner to represent South Africa in France this month

After making a name for herself in the ultra-running world and carving out her place in history, Marsha ‘The Machine’ Muller will again take to the track with the aim of setting another record.

The Richards Bay endurance athlete, who is reigning African and South African 48-hour running champion, has set her sights on taking the 24-hour title.

This as she represents South Africa in an official capacity later this month at the IAU (International Association of Ultrarunners) 24-hour World Championships in Albi, France.

Marsha, who runs for Nedbank, will jet off on 15 October and hit the track for the event on the 18th and 19th. Her aim is to ‘smash 200km’ in the allotted 24 hours.

“I am very excited and cannot wait!” said Marsha. “I’m going to go, tackle the 200km and bring something home for all of us.

“It feels like a dream come true to just put this outfit on,” said Marsha, adding that she’s going to give it her all out there.

While Marsha has partial funding for the trip, anything extra to add to the kitty would be greatly appreciated.
