Bongiwe has big dreams

SHE is young, beautiful and has big dreams.

Aspiring model Bongiwe Mthembu (19) is making her mark in the beauty industry, and even though modelling was never her first choice, she is excelling within the profession.

‘I fell in love with it after doing a couple of shoots and now can’t live without it,’ she said.

Only a couple of years into the industry, this emerging beauty from Mzingazi area outside Richards Bay is already a force to be reckoned with.

She is currently one of the top photogenic models from the region, starring in several beauty campaigns, and has been working with top photographers in the country.

During her short career, she has worked on many projects and scooped several beauty titles such as the Miss Valentine 20149 crown, Miss

Summer body 2018 and Miss Lizwi High School.

Last year she was named Miss Photogenic.

But this Grade 11 pupil at Manqamu High School in Mbonambi doesn’t just want to be a beauty queen, and aims to be one of the top fashion designers and sound engineers is South Africa.

‘I don’t want to rely on the beauty side of things, but want to still continue within the industry and trying other options.

‘Apart from modelling I love fashion and music,’ she said.
