Local organisation gives back to the community

Community asked to assist identify deprived families for food packages.

Langaville – Rise Up Kasi feeding scheme, initiated by the MCG Projects non-profit organisation in partnership with Divine House of Grace International, donated 70 relief food parcels on Tuesday to needy families in Extension Eight.

This is part of their campaign, No Family Hungry Drive, to provide a meal a day to 125 households a day.

Founder and organiser of the MCG Projects Mandla Gininda says: “Since we have started the initiative, we have managed to donate food parcels to more than 400 families within our surroundings, we are prioritising those who are most affected.

Organisations form alliances to help poverty-stricken families in Langaville.

“We have partnered up with local churches to ensure we reach more people. They also play a huge role in helping us identify families in need.”

The feeding programme will be visiting different sections to provide assistance to those who need it the most.

“We will continue at Extension Eight on Thursday and Friday from 12noon, at Gauteng Street, Sizabantu market (Open Space).
