The youth and children of Coolbreeze in Duduza marked this historical day with fun-filled activities, including history lessons from different speakers.
The event was hosted by the Sizwesethu Community Project NPO.
The NPO’s spokesperson, Thabo Ramoncha, expressed his gratitude to all those who made the event possible.

What is Freedom Day and why is it important?

“I would like to thank and show appreciation to all those who played a part in ensuring this event was a success.
“Our local businesses and organisations played a huge role.
“However, we were unable to reach our goal to organise winter packages for 150 children as we would have liked.
“Therefore, we would like to plead with community members to continue to support our programmes and get involved with upcoming projects,” said Ramoncha.
