Water interruptions to affect Tsakani and Duduza
The maintenance involves infusing new pipelines into existing ones and to commission the 14km section of the newly installed M2 pipeline.

Kwatsaduza – The City of Ekurhuleni is urging residents and businesses in Nigel, Duduza and surrounding areas to store adequate water for domestic use.
This is ahead of a day-long water supply interruption scheduled from June 11 to 12.
In a statement released by the City, the bulk water supplier, Rand Water, has planned maintenance work on the bulk water supply distribution network that will start from 05:00 on Friday, lasting until 07:00 on Saturday.

The maintenance involves infusing new pipelines into existing ones and commissioning the 14km section of the newly installed M2 pipeline.
Areas to be affected with low water pressure to no water include Duduza, Masetjhaba View, Bluegum View, John Dube Village, Nigel, Ferryvale, Visagie Park, Glenvarloch, Pretoriusstad, Vorsterskroon, Alra Park, Mackenzieville, and Tsakani Extensions 19, 20 and 21.
Industrial customers including Coca-Cola, Gibela, Consol, Nigel Prison, Union Carriage, Supreme Springs, Fortune Steel, Pride Milling, Seton, Bayer and others in the area will also be affected.

MMC for Water and Sanitation Tiisetso Nketle apologised to residents and the business sector for the interruption.
“Although the City will dispatch four water tankers to provide relief in areas experiencing no water, consumers are encouraged to store water for domestic purposes for the duration of the interruption,” said the MMC.
